March 2007 – Dec 2008

Arctic Engineering was selected to provide all plumbing work for the nautical-inspired design of the tallest building built in Indiana in 2009; Blue Chip Casino & Hotel located in Michigan City. Our Plumbing Division installed all underground and above-ground sanitary and stormwater piping for this new 22-story facility. The potable water distribution piping for the complete facility was also completed by our plumbers. Coordination with other trades on this project was paramount to allow for a conflict-free installation. To ensure this, Arctic’s Field Superintendent spent 3 months prior to the start of the project in pre-planning meetings.

This included working closely with CLEO, the interior design team from Las Vegas hired by the owner to create several mock-up suites offsite. This stage of the project ensured the finished product had the specific look and feel the owner wanted. Another step Arctic took to accommodate the precise, fast-paced construction schedule was to prefabricate all sanitary piping per floor in our shop and deliver it to the site complete. This allowed for ease of on-site installation and offered flexibility around the other trades involved. It also ensured Arctic was 2-floors ahead of schedule during the entire project.
